Projection Genie’s Notice for the California Consumer Privacy Act & California Privacy Rights Act
The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) gives California residents more control over the personal information that businesses collect about them. This is Projection Genie’s notice of California consumers’ privacy rights under the CCPA/CPRA.
Your rights under the CCPA/CPRA are described below. Please note that Projection Genie does not sell or share your personal information.
California Consumer Privacy Act & California Privacy Rights Act Rights
1. Right to know about personal information that is collected and how it is used and shared
California residents have the right to request, free of charge but no more than twice a year, the categories and specific pieces of personal information it has collected from them, the categories of sources from which it collected personal information, the purpose for collecting the personal information, the categories of third parties with whom the business shares personal information, and the categories of information it sells or discloses to third parties. Businesses must provide this information for the preceding 12 months.
2. Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information
California residents may request that businesses stop selling your personal information. With some exceptions, businesses cannot sell your personal information after they receive your opt-out request unless you later provide authorization allowing them to do so again. Businesses must wait at least 12 months before asking you to opt back in to the sale of your personal
information. Projection Genie does not sell or share personal information.
3. Right to Correct Inaccurate Personal Information
If we maintain inaccurate personal information about you, you may submit a verifiable consumer request asking us to correct it. Once we confirm your identity, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to correct (and direct our service providers and contractors to correct) the information, taking into account the nature of the personal information and the purpose for which it is processed. We will respond within 45 days of receipt of your request (and may extend once for another 45 days where reasonably necessary, in which case we will notify you).
4. Right to Limit Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information
Certain data we hold—such as company financials, precise geolocation, or account log-in credentials—may qualify as “Sensitive Personal Information” under the California Privacy Rights Act. We use this information only to:
- Provide the services you request
- Ensure security and integrity
- Detect and prevent fraud
- Perform short-term, transient uses (e.g., non-personalized advertising)
- Undertake internal research and product improvement
You have the right at any time to direct us to limit our use and disclosure of your Sensitive Personal Information to these strictly necessary business purposes.
5. Right to non-discrimination for exercising CCPA/CPRA rights
As a California resident, businesses cannot deny goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level or quality of goods or services just because you exercised your rights under the CCPA/CPRA.
6. Right to delete personal information that was collected (with some exceptions)
California residents may request that a business delete personal information it collected from you. However, there are many exceptions that allow businesses to keep your personal information.
Exercising Your Rights
To submit a request based on these rights, please email info@projectiongenie.com. We will verify that the individual making the request is the California resident to whom the personal information pertains. We may require additional information if you use an agent to submit a request.
